We are currently working with a leading private equity firm managing over 50 billion in assets. The firm focuses on long-term value creation through strategic investments and operational excellence.
The Private Equity Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations and reporting requirements for a portfolio of private equity funds and affiliated entities. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of investment accounting, fund structures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements for private equity funds, including quarterly and annual reports.
- Maintain general ledger and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
- Reconcile cash and investment positions across funds and entities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and other regulatory frameworks.
- Work closely with auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and tax filings.
- Assist in the preparation of investor reporting, performance metrics, and NAV calculations.
- Monitor investment activity and maintain accurate records of asset valuations and transactions.
- Support internal teams with financial data for fundraising, investor relations, and compliance.
- Continuously identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Chartered Accountancy qualification (ACA/CA)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in private equity, asset management, or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting systems (e.g., Investran, eFront, Yardi, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
